Role: Art Direction and Video Editing
Speakaboos needed a short online marketing video that would explain its product and show users in action.
The production of the video met the definition of strappy. The marketing team provided a script and the videographer and I agreed on a list of the shots and supporting graphics we would need. We discussed lighting, photography, and the general pace of the shots. The sound track was provided by our go-to voice over artist and we used stock background music. Friends and coworkers with young children were enrolled as our actors, and their homes became our sets. Having art-directed all the illustrations used in our storybooks, I was very familiar with which stories would showcase our library in the best light. I was responsible for the video editing, taking feedback from our CEO and the marketing team.
The video was placed on the website's home page. It kept users on the homepage about 1 minute longer on average, and led to a 20% higher conversion rate.
