Short movie created in 3D software

As part of my Senior Thesis at FIT, and with the guidance of my teachers, I storyboarded, designed, modeled, rigged, textured, and animated this short movie using XSI SoftImage.

In this wordless story, the characters facial expressions had to express a range of emotions in order to tell a convincing story. I created a complex facial rig for all 3 characters using blend shapes and custom sliders. The hand animation is another example of creative rigging, where the fingers were animated using a leg rig

Speakaboos

A retelling of little Jack Horner

While working at Speakaboos as a freelance animator I storyboarded and animated over 80 short linear stories, using artwork provided to me in Illustrator or Photoshop. In rare cases we used existing analog picture books, scanned them in, and cut out elements to be animated. Little Jack Horner is special to me because I also got to illustrate it. The artwork was created directly with Photoshop using a Cintiq, and then rigged and animated in Adobe After Effects.
